In this workshop, the speaker  will demonstrate effective steps to the teaching of Reading Comprehension in the English classroom. He hopes to show participants that Intensive Reading  is far from a passive skill and has all the potential to motivate and engage the students.
 
Process Writing Made Easy
In this workshop, the speaker  will lead the audience through the stages of process writing and discuss how to implement this technique in the ELT class.
 
Biodata. 
 JORGE SETTE:  with more than 20 years’ experience in the field of English Language Teaching – having worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and marketing professional in the area - Jorge has an MA in Applied Linguistics to Language Teaching (PUC-SP) and an MBA in Marketing (ESPM-SP). He has given talks and teacher training sessions in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. Currently, he holds the position of Product Coordinator for Macmillan do Brasil.

The pathways to soft skills in English
When it comes to language teaching when the word skill is mentioned , almost immediately a teacher would say- reading, writing, listening and speaking. But what skills are required outside the language classroom?    Have you heard of meta - skills?  What about soft skills? What are life skills?
Can your students manage their own learning ? Can they solve problems ? Are your students self motivated?
Come to this presentation and find out what life skills are and through practical activities  the speaker will show how to teach these skills to your students.
 
Biodata
CRISTINA CESAR holds an MA degree in Applied Linguistics and a BA in English Language and Literature both from PUC-SP, with a post-graduate course in International Marketing. She has been an ELT consultant for over 8 years with over 20 years´ teaching experience. She also teaches at two private universities in the greater São Paulo. Her main areas of interest include learning styles and learning strategies.
